879879 Get off the r o l l e r c o a s t e r of sugar addiction

I read about this somewhere, and I'm sure Elizabeth can add more info. Sugar gives you an "upper" sensation then when it wears off you need another hit (which is one reason it's hard to give up sugar). I've found that sugar actually makes me giddy and hyper, almost manic.

If you get off the rollercoaster of sugar addiction, you are "depressed" which is to say not on any uppers. I'm still on sugar and caffeine, and working my way off. But I did a Caveman diet for about two weeks and wasn't actually depressed. What I felt was not being manic/hyper/giddy but more flat reactions. Very slowly I got back on the sugar/caffeine wagon. (I'm working my way back to the caveman (protein with low gly veggies) now).

It appalling to me to realize my real state, how I've lived for decades, is in some addiction state. I want the real me, but the real me is probably sugar coated with a sugar center. Ick. I can't even remember what the real me is sometimes.
